This building is Jackson's Mill. It was built in 1832 by John Lamb of Hawthorn for John Henry Jackson. The Jackson Family used the mill to ground corn. It was converted into a private house in the 1980s. You can see the mill from the A19. The day was rather foggy when this image was taken.

Located near Castle Eden. Bleachery Dene joins onto Hesleden Dene / Crimdon Dene. It got its name because of the sail and rope making that went on in the area during the early 19th century. When visiting the dene, you may be lucky enough to spot roe deer.
